MOPPETS is the childcare that is connected with Santa Ynez Valley MOPS. Our MOPPETS program provides loving care for children of all ages while mothers attend the MOPS meetings. The children are involved in planned activities that provide social growth and spiritual enrichment, including a curriculum base for young and preschool age children. Those under two year of age are cared for in a loving nursery setting, while older children interact together with age appropriate play inside or outside on the playground.
We realize that this may be a new experience for your child and that they may have trouble separating from you. Our experienced and caring workers are there to help your child work through this transition, however, you can be rest assured that if your child needs you, we will come and get you from the meeting.
For your child's time in MOPPETS, please plan to bring any diapers, wipes, bottles or any changes of clothes they may need for the morning or evening. If you would like your child changed into pajamas so that they are ready for bed after the evening meetings, please bring them with you. Closed-toed shoes are required. MOPPETS is a peanut-free environment.
We always have room for more moms in our MOPS group. However, due to limited childcare workers, we have to limit the number of children requiring childcare per meeting. Due to the limited space available, we kindly ask that those who can, utilize any alternative childcare options that may be available to them. This will allow more spots to be available for those who would otherwise not be able to attend. If your childcare needs change you will have up to 2 hours before the meeting time to cancel via email to info.syvmops@gmail.com
If you do not show up for your childcare spot or do not cancel appropriately you will be given 3 warnings and then will unfortunately not be able to utilize childcare for the rest of that session (fall or spring).
This year, there will be a window of time at the beginning of each MOPS meeting week, for each mom to sign up their children for MOPPETS. The time window for signup will run from Monday at 10AM to Wednesday 5PM, or until the maximum capacity is reached. You will receive an email confirming your spot on the childcare roster for that week, or an email for the wait list. This will be a first come, first serve basis. All children signed up for childcare will need a current MOPPETS form on file in order to be accepted into the childcare room.
Snacks will be provided to children during the meeting, however, we suggest that you feed your child a meal prior to dropping them off at MOPPETS. If your child has any allergies, they will be noted with the childcare workers. You will need to provide your child their own snacks if they have any food allergies.
